Baby bowls to plates- Munchkin apple plate review! #triedtested

When weaning, little one got given a set of tommee tippee baby bowls, which have worked perfectly for us- up till now. Now little one is 11 months old, shes having proper 'meals' which in a bowl, is being pilled up. Now this isn't the biggest problem, but it does mean that if vegetables are at the bottom of the bowl, they don't get eaten, and they don't get a chance to cool! I thought it was finally time to give her a 'big girl plate' so for the last few days we have been trying out Munchkins apple plates- and we love them!

I know for a lot of you this might not be a very exciting product to review, but to us parents finding a reliable product or brand that we know and love is very important. Id tried little one with plates and we did not get on, the food slid about everywhere, she tried to pick the plate up and throw it and we found the sides of the plates weren't high enough for her to grab her food up.

So, why out of all the baby plates on the market, did I pick these? Firstly, these caught my eye because of the bright colours, I like to think anything that's fun and colourful will give her that little bit more encouragement to eat her food.

Also, I really liked the idea of the divisions in the plate, it has three sections to divide little ones food up and I think this is such a good way of encouraging new foods and getting her familiar with what foods what. As is said before, in her bowl all her food was just piled on top of each other and I felt she didn't really know what she was eating. The sections have really nice high sides so little one can grab her food easily. Shes at the age where she loves putting things away and taking them out again, putting things inside boxes and tidying, so the last few days I have noticed her doing the same with her food, she has been moving food around the dividers as she eats. This is really helping with the development and and co-ordination of pinching the food with thumb and finger and placing it in her mouth. These plates can be used from ages 6 months+.

In this set, you get a red, green and yellow apple shaped plate. They are dishwasher, microwave and freezer safe! The plates are a perfect size to grow with your child, and can be used for all sorts of different foods.

You could use these with all 3 meals and snacks. The small section is perfect for dips. You could even have fruit and Yogurt!

If you have older children, these can also be used for lots of different things, you could use them for learning games. Money could be counted and put into the different sections?

Another use for older children's is making a 'crafts plate' you could have the sections filled with paint, water for brushes and sequins?

*please only use for weaning purposes with young babies*

We like to use ours for food! This an example of one of little ones lunch, I put cheese in one (our cheese loving baby will only eat it grated!) crackers in another and some filled pasta pieces in the large section. I love that I can give her such an assortment of things on one plate, but they don't have to be mixed and she can eat each section individually.

I hope you enjoyed this review of the munchkin plates, ive had so much fun at dinner time dividing up her food, and shes been really enjoying eating it! hopefully this has helped some of you who need to upgrade some of your weaning bowls and plates like I did!
