Ewan the dream sheep- #triedtested

This little sheep is the reason my newborn slept. We got given him at my baby shower by some close family friends who had just recently had a newborn of there own, they would always rave about Ewan and swore by him for getting their little one to sleep. If your wondering, hey Laura- whats Ewan the dream sheep? Don't worry, I was exactly the same. This 'toy' is designed to play music and sounds to your baby which they would find relaxing or associate with going to sleep. Some parents have mixed reviews, but we loved it! It helped so much, we would play him every night to our little one from the day she was born, then when It came to evening and we would play him she knew it was bed time. He became a very key part of her bedtime routine.

Ewan is stated to be 'the ultimate baby sleep aid' which I would definitely agree with! we would take him everywhere with us.

In the last few months the amount we have used Ewan has reduced, mainly because of little ones sleep improving and the need for background noise has stopped. Nether the less, he is still a much loved soft toy, and she loves making him glow and make
sounds, I would not hesitate to use it if she was having a restless night, or for when shes older and need as comforter during the toddler years. He is such a good investment and could last your little ones childhood, I would recommend it to any new parents or parents of difficult sleepers!

One thing I love about the toy is that his tail is velcrow so he attaches to the cot so easily! I just fasten the tail round the top or the cot rail so little one can see him. He doesn't work so well on a moses basket but can quite easily sit anywhere so baby can see and hear him!

An amazing feature is the glowing light, this happens when any sound is coming from him, it gives off the most gentle night light and is a soft red colour which let babies know it's time for calm and quiet. It pairs so nicely with his noises and is a great comforter.

The noises that Ewan the dream sheep makes has been adapted and researched into what newborn and older babies find relaxing and enjoyable to listen to. You can press each of his legs and they make a different noise to help your little one go to sleep, you will find that you have a favourite or a few favourites and this will help baby to know when they hear that noise it't time to sleep.

The top left foot plays a gentle lullaby, this was our favourites when little one got slightly older, she started to get tired when she heard it and we could see she associated the sound with sleep. The top right foot plays the sound of rain, and bottom left foot plays the sound of a hoover, these where less played noises purely because our little one wasn't a fan of white noise, she didn't need the background. I know a lot of babies take very well to white noise and it really helps them- so be sure to still try these two noises out on your little one if you wish! The Bottom right leg was another one of our favourites and I think it is such a clever idea. It plays and imitation of a woman's womb, the baby can hear waters flowing and even a heart beat! we loved this one and used it straight away when little one was newborn, it was such a comforter for her and really made her feel relaxed.

These noises are on a timer, so if you fall asleep with little one (which happens more than not with me!) you don't have to worry about turning it off or wasting battery, and if he turns off and you want another round of noise, just press his leg again! To turn him off you just hold down a leg for a few seconds.

As you can tell, this is such a clever toy that has so many features to fit every parent and baby's need. He really is designed to help you and your little ones sleep- and we all know, anything that's going to help with that is a must have! I hope you've enjoyed this review and its helped some of you who where unsure about the different sleep aids available on the market.
